The UK is the world’s second largest aerospace manufacturer in the world after the USA, exporting over 90% of its products, which equates to 31 billion GBP annual turnover.* The British aerospace industry is an advanced manufacturing sector, making high-value, high-tech components for almost every major aircraft platform, leading capability in complex components and emerging technologies.
Glenmore Hane is part of our aviation industry and our fine-limit (precision) sheet metal fabrication and finishing facilities provide vital and integral parts to a number of aerospace companies, aircraft and part makers. We make sheet metal and bracket components for prototype projects and production batch orders, all fabricated, quality controlled and finished in-house here in Slough. We have extensive experience working with plastics, aluminium, aluminium alloys, and steel understanding flex, tolerances under load and limits. Our work for the aerospace industry has also included minor assembly including gluing, grommeting and inserts of components.
We can assist and consult on material choice, behaviour and performance along with production techniques. Our in-house finishing department is on par with the best in the UK – able to evaluate, consult and recommend along with function and light-weighting assessment. At prototype stage we will already be looking at the production procedure and efficiency for the future batch orders. It is our nature to find the best solution for the job required. Aerospace specifications are well known and we have the in-house experience to deal with complex issues along with controlled production management, traceability and quality inspection requirements to the highest standards.
The parts we fabricate feature in luxury private jets, commercial airliners and military specified projects. Somewhere around the globe right now there are Glenmore Hane parts cruising at 30,000 ft. or more.
